Studio for the Early American Musical is dedicated to presenting songs from early Broadway, vaudeville and musical film by songwriters such as Jerome Kern, Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Cole Porter, and Rodgers and Hart as well as championing songwriters whose voices have been neglected. Taking inspiration from the historical performance movement, we seek to emulate the original interpretive styles of this music as heard in historical recordings and film by the performers who first introduced the songs.
